The apartment comprises of a spacious living room furnished with a very comfortable sofa bed for two, original dining table and a TV set. This Rome apartment rental is located in Campo di Fiori which is the historic centre of Rome and close to the Jewish Ghetto and Piazza Navona. The Vatican is also just across the river Tiber. This ancient piazza is at the heart of Rome and has become a popular spot for people to hang out to admire wonderful Renaissance and Baroque buildings, street artists, musicians and poets. By day Campo de' Fiori is dominated by a world famous outdoor food market. By late afternoon a large team of street cleaners have removed any trace of the market and it becomes the lazy hangout for those having a coffee or aperitivo in one of the many outdoor bars lining the piazza. In the summer people spill out of the bars into the piazza and it has a party like atmosphere.  Due to a mix up with the arrival times, the apartment and the contact was not ready for us. After this was sorted we loved the apartment - great location It might be good to clarify times as there was an assumption that we were arriving at 1.45 in the early morning - rather than in the afternoon - this would have helped us have a smoother arrival - apart from that - a great apartment. Loved it julie crabtree (13-10-2008) This is a lovely apartment in a superb location and will give you a perfect taste of Roman living.The apartment itself is tasteful and very comfortable-the owner met us personally on arrival and allowed us to stay late on our last day because we had an evening flight:much more generous than you could expect from a hotel.The proximity to the Campo De Fiori is what makes this apartment such a joy.The fruit,veg and flowers on sale every day except Friday & Sunday are something you only dream of in the UK.All seasonal - handfuls of rocket,fresh broad beans,zucchini flowers,you name it! It would be a crime not to cook with such food literally on the doorstep.The market is complemented by a superb delicatessen on the corner-bread by weight,fresh buffalo mozzarella,fresh pasta & gnocchi...plus staples like wine,milk, & bottled water.You get the picture! :) By night the Campo is cleared for the bars and restaurants.We chose to eat out further afield some nights-try the Jewish quarter and Trastevere just over the bridge.Its easy walking to many sights and public transport is cheap and easy.Just buy your tickets first!We enjoyed being away from the tourist drag of Piazza Navona & the Spanish Steps - this part of Rome is definitely more homely.In addition to our own walks in the city,we took trips out to the aqueducts and Ostia Antica. Downsides:if noise bothers you,take earplugs as the market setting up early each morning can be noisy-but its a small price to pay for being so close to the best of what Rome has to offer.
